The Explanar is a
revolutionary new development in golf instruction designed by
Luther Blacklock. It is the complete golf training system
based around the fundamental principles of the swing plane and the
biomechanics of the body, promoting the ideal movements required
for the golf swing. The Explanar turns golf swing
theory into feelings, allowing the golfer to focus on
executing the shot more effectively.
The Explanar is suitable for golfers of all levels and works equally well for both left and right-handers between 5ft and 6ft 6 inches tall. To train on the Explanar effectively you need the basics of a good grip and posture. We recommend you visit your PGA professional who will assist you with these fundamentals. A list of Explanar Centres is available on this site. Used in conjunction with the weighted roller, the Explanar is set to your correct angle in order that you can feel your best and most powerful swing on your optimum swing plane. The Explanar is also an ideal golf fitness machine. The weighted roller and the Explanar hoop work to educate the golfing muscles, strengthening both arms and back muscles as well as increasing flexibility. Weekly training and/or tuition on the Explanar will help improve balance and develop a consistent tempo, fast-tracking you into playing better golf. The Explanar Golf Training System is suitable for indoor and outdoor use and is fully weatherproof and comes with a 12 Month warranty. |

The Explanar
steel hoop is used in conjunction with a weighted roller.
You step inside the Explanar rest the roller on the hoop and take
your grip and stance in the centre of the Explanar with the roller
in the central ball position. The Explanar is then adjusted to the
correct angle in order that you can swing the roller on your
optimum swing plane.
You are then ready to initiate the swing. With the aid of your PGA professional and a series of Explanar drills, you are now able to make a golf swing on your ideal swing plane. The Explanar

The Explanar
can be used alongside standard practice routines,
teaching programmes and video analysis systems. Whilst the video
will highlight swing faults, spending five or ten minutes on the
Explanar will then assist your pupil in retraining their

Explanar Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need training to learn how to use the Explanar?
Both the Professional and Home Training and Golf Fitness Systems include an instructional CD/VHS. However for amateur golfers to gain the maximum benefit we recommend that you visit your PGA Professional at your local Explanar Centre to gain first hand experience.
How much space is needed?
The minimum space required is 4m (13ft) wide, 2m (8ft) deep and 3m (10ft) high (if in a covered area).
Can the Explanar be easily moved & stored away?
Yes. Both the Pro Model and the Home Training and Golf Fitness System foldaway to a maximum of 2.4m (8ft) long, 1.5m (5ft) high and 0.6m (2ft) deep. The Pro Model has wheels and can be wheeled away with ease. The Home Training and Golf Fitness System is of a heavy construction but can still be moved and stored.
Is the Explanar weatherproof?
The Explanar is guaranteed for 12 months and can be used indoors and outdoors.
Can the Explanar be left outside?
Yes. However it’s recommended that in the event of high winds the Explanar upper hoop is lowered or brought inside. Natural elements will over time impact on Explanars appearance so we recommend that the Home Training and Golf Fitness System in particular is brought indoors in inclement weather.
Can the Explanar be used in a Driving Bay?
This is the ideal location if at a driving range, subject to the bay being big enough of course.
Can you use a club and hit balls from the Explanar?
NO. This would be extremely dangerous, would irreparably damage the System and would invalidate the warranty. The Explanar is designed as a teaching, training and golf fitness system and only the Explanar Power Roller™ should be used on the Explanar.
Is the Power Roller™ fixed to the Explanar?
NO. The Power Roller™ allows for a fluid movement, catering for different swing styles, whist remaining true to the Plane theory. There are TWO Power Rollers available. A long Power Roller that caters for driver to 5 iron and a smaller Power Roller for 6iron to lob wedge. (Only the Long Power Roller goes with the Home Model Explanar.)
Why does a Power Roller™ have to be so heavy?
The Explanar is designed to re-train and develop, in a slow and steady motion, the muscle groups that are crucial to the golf swing. Research has proven that the weight of the Power Roller™ meets that requirement quickly and effectively.
Does the Explanar come with the mat?
Yes. The Explanar includes the Radial Stance Mat™ and the instructional CD/VHS explains how to use this to develop a variety of shots.

Absolutely not! The Explanar is “the most complete teaching, training and golf fitness system in the world”. Can my son/daughter/wife/husband use the Explanar?
The Explanar benefits ALL golfers and can be used by anyone 5’ to 6’6”. It truly is a fantastic family training system.
Is the Explanar adjustable?
Yes. The Explanar is fully adjustable (with calibration indicators) for the height of the golfer, enabling you to practice a range of drills.
What is the delivery time?
Delivery is 2 to 7 days from receipt of order and we can ship to any location in Australia.
